While I love traveling, my roots run deep into the Blue Ridge Mountains of the Appalachians. My parents were part of the greatest generation, and my grandparents survived the Great Depression due in part to the bounty surrounding their simple country home.

This blog is dedicated to the knowledge we are swiftly losing–some of which I will have to learn anew because of my failure to practice–simple homegrown food, nature’s beauty, the sound of water running across rocks, and the joy of leaving fewer footprints and more treasures from the earth for my beloved granddaughter, Oaklynn.
